01
Write your own content
The old site's text, images, design and code still belong to whoever made them, even after the domain expired. The Wayback Machine does not license anyone to reuse what it archived.
02
Do not pose as the previous business
Rebuilding the old brand or site under its old name can mislead visitors and breach trademark or consumer-protection rules. Check the name before you invest.
03
Build something genuinely useful
Google treats reviving an expired domain mainly to borrow its old rankings as spam. A real site on a related topic, with value of its own, is the safe route.
04
Redirect old addresses with 301s
Send the old pages listed below to the closest matching new page. This keeps real visitors and link value without copying anything.
05
Check the links before you rely on them
Look at the backlink report first. Links from unrelated or spammy sites will not help a relaunch.
